How to choose your pocket knife?

For all your outdoor outings, one accessory is mandatory. This will allow you to cook, do DIY work and can also be useful during your travels in hostile areas. If you practice an activity related to bivouacking, it is essential: the knife.

Summary:

How to choose it?

If you use your knife frequently, it will be preferable to favor a fixed blade. To transport it, you can get a sheath to position on your belt, your backpack or around your leg. If you use your blade less frequently, it is recommended to opt for a folding blade. Be careful with poor quality folding blade knives, repeated use can cause mechanism problems with opening and closing your knife.

That's why we offer you a choice of knives, with fixed and folding blades that will be perfectly suitable for your outdoor outings.

The Gerber black serrated gator folding knife

The Gerber black folding knife is equipped with a robust 420 HC satin steel blade with a Clip Point shape. It is lightweight and easy to use for outdoor enthusiasts. Its 8 cm blade is long enough to get you out of any situation during your bivouac outings. It is partially serrated to cut more resistant materials.

Regarding the handle, it features the patented Gator Grip handle which offers unmatched comfort and ease of use. In addition, it is equipped with an automatic locking system and pump closure, located on the back of the handle. This allows the blade to be kept locked in the open position and requires only simple pressure to close the knife.

It deploys easily to allow you immediate use, thanks to its small size of 18.5 cm. It comes with a sheath, equipped with a belt loop which will allow you to take it everywhere with you without causing any inconvenience.

The Baladéo red rescue safety knife

The Baladéo red rescue safety knife is a folding knife with a 420 stainless steel blade with a length of 8.5 cm. The  blade is characteristic of the Drop Point shape. Compared to the previous knife, the Drop Point blade has a small disadvantage given that it is less fine, so it will be less suitable for precision tasks than a Clip Point type blade.

The handle measures 12.5 cm, for an open length of 21 cm. This knife is equipped with essential tools such as a glass breaker, but also a seatbelt cutter. This knife is a reliable tool for all emergency situations.

This knife, also available in other colors (Black and Wood), is equipped with an automatic locking system. This system is the Liner Lock and consists of blocking the base of the blade by the handle plate (knife frame serving as support for the handle). This locking method allows you to obtain a relatively thin knife. To open it, a simple pressure gesture is enough to release the base of the blade.

The Gerber Bear Grylls paracord knife

The Gerber Bear Grylls paracord knife  is a knife with a fixed blade, which is ideal for frequent use with easy and quick sharpening. Its 8.1 cm Recurve blade is made of 56 HRC steel, making it a very resistant knife. The advantage of this blade lies mainly in the fact that the knife has a "pulling" movement allowing better penetration and cutting power.

This knife, which was designed in collaboration with Bear Grylls, survival specialist, will allow you to face many situations given that it has a dual function. It's a lightweight and extremely solid knife that also features 1.2 m of paracord with instant access at the handle level. It comes with its kydex sheath adaptable to your belt or your backpack and which allows you to keep it within reach. The belt clip can be used horizontally or vertically, orientable to the right or left, up or down.
