So far, no synthetic fiber has been able to reproduce all the unique qualities of wool, nature's functional fabric. The 400 socks will keep you warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot. If you're wet, the fabric will keep you dry, because wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without even feeling damp. And even if you're really soaked, the socks will keep you warm thanks to the chemical process present in wool called heat of absorption.

The 400 range from the brand Woolpower is a thicker intermediate layer made from Ullfrotté Original 400 fabric. This fabric is ideal for colder conditions or when you don't plan to move around much. Underneath, you can wear thinner socks such as Ullfrotté 200, designed to be worn close to the body.
