Changes ahead for the French army!

Change is in sight for the French army!

Despite its defeat against Germany during World War II, France is without a doubt one of the five greatest military powers in the world and does everything to remain so.

We can no longer count the successful missions, its formidable and feared armies with for example the famous Foreign Legion to name just one.

For several years, the army has been doing everything to maintain this status, showing great ambitions. To keep this status, it starts by better arming its troops and especially better equipping them.

The Famas (Fusil Automatique d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne), for example, the famous assault rifle of the French army that needs no introduction and is starting to show its age, will therefore be dethroned by a more recent weapon of German manufacture which is the HK-416 assault rifle. «

This rifle, in NATO 5.56 mm caliber, has the capability to fire rifle grenades and can receive a 40 mm grenade launcher to increase its firepower" (source DGA).

The "bugle" will therefore be replaced by the German model in 2017 and deliveries will continue for about ten years with an import of more than 100,000 weapons, accessories and ammunition. 

Finally, the new FELIN equipment (Fantassin à Équipement et Liaisons Intégrées) has been implemented since 2010 by the general directorate of armament to modernize the equipment of our soldiers in order to increase and evolve their combat capabilities (lighter, more precise materials, etc...), and thus be more effective during their interior as well as exterior operations.

The FELIN equipment is in perpetual evolution and is currently used by the 1st Infantry Regiment for example, and was used in the theater of operations in Mali by our military.
