The B27 S3 safety shoe from Aviator Safety brand

This winter safety shoe has a modern and stylish look. Made of water-repellent full-grain leather (8-hour resistant), it also has an AviTex membrane that will provide good waterproofing while being breathable in winter period. It meets the EN 20345 standard S3 SRC while being ESD (resistance to electrostatic charges). The B27 has a parabolic rubber walking sole, with a heel notch, allowing you to easily climb a ladder.

Regarding its construction, a triple topstitch is present to combine the different panels for robustness that can withstand anything. For perfect support, the eyelets are combined with reinforced eyelets on the top of the shoe to allow you to adjust it as you wish. Additionally, a loop is present at the back to easily put on and remove the shoe, without damaging it.

The Footwear move S3 high safety shoe from Mascot

These Mascot mid-high safety shoes are aimed at those who want a discreet and stylish model. Made of oiled nubuck, they have the WRU marking (Water Repellent Upper) indicating that the shoe upper has a water-repellent property. The Footwear move is S3 certified and also has the ESD marking.

This model of winter shoe is extremely flexible and offers great freedom of movement, especially when it needs to be bent, such as during work on knees. In addition to its flexibility, this winter model has a composite toe cap to protect toes from external impacts and shocks. Tested to withstand a pressure of 200 joules, the composite toe cap contains no metal. This material not being a thermal conductor, it offers you comfort in both hot and cold environments.

Another aspect of this comfortable winter safety shoe is the Mascot comfort midsole (sole located between the outsole and the insole) which allows shock absorption across the entire surface of the sole while providing increased walking comfort.

Like the previous one, this shoe is EN 20345 S3 SRC ESD certified. It also exists in a low-cut version in turquoise blue color with a BOA® fastening system.

The Leopard UK S3 safety shoe designed by U-Power

The Leopard UK S3 Upower is a high winter safety shoe certified S3 HRO SRC CI. It is part of the brand's Concept M line, its independent studs offer you an incredible level of grip on rough terrain. It has a thermal insulation in non-woven fibers, considered one of the best materials for retaining heat : Thinsulate M. The Wing Tex interior lining with air tunnel guarantees very high breathability, which pairs perfectly with the AirToe composite toe cap that will let your feet breathe.

Its upper is made of water-repellent full-grain smooth leather to guarantee keeping your feet dry. There is also a VIBRAM sole, which provides a high level of grip and durability. This Vibram safety shoe also allows excellent resistance to heat (HRO) and tears. Moreover, the sole is also CI certified, which allows cold insulation.

For additional protection, the winter safety shoe Leopard has ankle protection as well as a retro-reflective insert on the back allowing good visibility in all circumstances.

Winter safety shoe: key points to remember

The winter period requires facing very specific constraints:

- Low temperatures that will create discomfort if you are not properly shod.

- An omnipresent humidity, which accentuates the cold if it enters the shoe.

- An even more soiling environment, which requires maintenance and cleaning to be carried out regularly.

To work in ideal conditions during the winter period, it is highly recommended to go for an S3 safety shoe. A WR or WRU type material should be preferred to slow down water penetration. If your budget allows, you can go for a winter safety shoe with a Gore-Tex membrane to further slow down water penetration.

Finally, you can use complementary accessories such as winter socks adapted to the period, for additional comfort to face the cold.
