It all began in the 1930s with one man: Fernand Petzl, craftsman and speleologist. Petzl is a French company producing mountain and safety equipment, as well as headlamps, for sports activities (climbing, mountaineering, caving, etc.) and professional activities (work at height, mountain rescue, etc.)

The Petzl brand is distributed in more than fifty countries.
