Since September 1, 2022, six new regional patches have come into force following the territorial reform of January 1, 2016. Let's discover together the insignia of the new regions of the National Gendarmerie.

The insignia of the Hauts-de-France region is composed on the left of the coat of arms of Flanders with, on a gold background, the sable lion, armed and langued gules. On the right, we find the coat of arms of Picardy with at the top on a silver background the three gules lionceaux and at the bottom on an azure background the three golden fleur-de-lis.
The insignia of the Grand Est region is composed at the top of the coat of arms of Alsace with gules with a silver fess accompanied by flowered cottices of the same, surmounted by three golden crowns. At the bottom on the left, we find the coat of arms of Champagne on an azure background with a silver bar flanked by two potent and counter-potent cottices of gold. Finally, at the bottom right, we find the coat of arms of Lorraine, with a gules bend, charged with three silver alerions.
The insignia of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region is composed in the upper left of the coat of arms of Burgundy, azure semy of fleur-de-lis or with a compony border of argent and gules. In the upper right and lower left, we find the coat of arms of Franche-Comté, azure semy of billets or with a crowned lion of the same, armed and langued gules. Finally, in the lower right, we find once again the coat of arms of Burgundy, this time banded or and azure of six pieces with a gules border.
The insignia of the Nouvelle Aquitaine region is cut per pale in chief with in the upper left the coat of arms of Poitou-Charentes with five golden castles in saltire. In the upper right, the coat of arms of Limousin, ermine, with a gules border. Finally, at the bottom, we find the coat of arms of Aquitaine, of the same, with a golden leopard, armed and langued azure.
The insignia of the Occitanie region consists of a background cut in two lengthwise with, on the left, the red color for Toulouse and, on the right, the blue of Montpellier. In its center, we find the Occitan cross, a cross clechy and pommety of twelve pieces of gold, filled with gules and overlaying everything.
The insignia of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is divided into four parts with, in the upper left, the coat of arms of Lyon, gules, with a silver lion, with an azure chief charged with three golden fleur-de-lis. In the upper right, we find the coat of arms of Auvergne on a gold background with a gules gonfalon fringed with sinople. In the lower left, we discover the coat of arms of Dauphiné on a gold background with an azure dolphin, bearded, eared and finned gules. Finally, in the lower right, we find the coat of arms of Savoie with its silver cross.
