Airsoft: The Scenarios

The enjoyment of an airsoft game depends on many parameters, particularly the scenario! Indeed, airsoft games are structured, for the most part, around a story, a way of playing.

We had already presented to you, on our blog, the basic scenario of an airsoft game: Team Deathmatch (also called TDM). Although this is the most widespread scenario and accessible to new players, there are a multitude of scenarios and different roles to vary the pleasures and ways of playing!

What is a scenario?

The scenario is decided before the game begins. It is essential to the smooth running of the game since it forms the foundation. Depending on the scenario, in other words, depending on the chosen game mode, teams will play differently and use different tactics to achieve their goal: victory!

There are a multitude of scenarios, from the most realistic to the most outlandish. There's something for everyone. It's all a matter of preferences, imagination and safety.

Under no circumstances should a scenario put players in danger. Safety comes first in Airsoft, which is why you need to think about equipping yourself well (Article: our top 5 essential accessories) if you're embarking on this adventure.

The most played scenarios

There are a multitude of scenarios in airsoft, some of which stand out by being more practiced by the community.

  • "Capture the flag" or CTF is a team game that consists of stealing a flag located in "enemy territory" with the goal of bringing it back to your base. Many variations of this practice exist, notably with the use of a prison. Capture the opposing flag without getting caught, while defending your zone!

  • As previously mentioned, "Hostage taking" involves two teams fighting: one composed of players who hold them in captivity and must watch over them, and the other consisting of their team members who must free them.

  • In the same vein, there is the "President" or "VIP". One team must proceed with the transfer of a personality and protect them to a given point while the opposing team's objective is to sabotage this escort.

  • The ambush is a scenario variation of "President". One team must reach a determined point while the other team must set up an ambush on the path so they never reach their destination.

  • Another scenario, less based on teamwork: the "Sniper" otherwise known as the "Marksman". A player using a scoped rifle has a determined amount of time to hide. A team must then go searching for them with the goal of bringing them back to a determined control point.

  • Finally, "CQB" or "Close Quarter Battle" consists of using handgun replicas and low-power weapons to fight as teams in a generally confined space that is sometimes dark or littered with obstacles.

Obviously, there are many types of airsoft games, not all of which are covered here, to best meet your expectations.
