Tactical flashlights have been specially designed for law enforcement to enable them to carry out their operations effectively. Tactical pocket flashlights were used by gendarmes with their firearms, allowing them to illuminate their field of vision or target without lowering their guard.
There are currently multiple models of tactical flashlights, from the large tactical flashlight capable of illuminating several hundred meters, to the tactical headlamp, including the tactical laser flashlight or the famous pistol light.
Tactical flashlights are flashlights specially designed for law enforcement or special forces. They are flashlights with powerful brightness that can blind or at least dazzle a target. Also providing wide and powerful illumination, these tactical flashlights serve for lighting and controlling tactical zones.
Whether in real situations by gendarmerie forces or in airsoft games, the tactical flashlight is essential equipment.
It is recommended to opt for a lightweight tactical flashlight allowing one-handed carrying. Also, its lightness will be appreciated by the operator when wearing it on the belt, properly clipped in its flashlight holder.
Besides lightness, attention must also be paid to the number of lumens as well as the available lighting modes. For lumens, the more there are, the stronger the light output will be and the range multiplied. Note that for search operations, for example in case of disappearance, flashlights going up to more than 4000 lumens can be used. There are many lamps going beyond that, but for gendarmerie force operators, it is rare to use them. As mentioned before, the powerful tactical flashlight must also be lightweight.
Regarding lighting modes, there is a bit of everything, noting that strobe mode is essential. It allows for dazzling, disorientation, and blinding of targets. This mode is dedicated to law enforcement and therefore to tactical flashlights. It can also be interesting to take advantage of this mode during your bivouacs, whether to keep an animal or human at a distance.
This strobe mode will generally be accompanied by an economy mode, lighting at lower intensity but allowing prolonged use, a normal mode and a high mode, pushing your flashlight to its maximum light output. In this mode, usage time is reduced, but it is rare to progress with it. It serves above all to dazzle a target, causing a moment of temporary blindness allowing the arrest of an aggressor.
The last point for choosing a perfect tactical flashlight is the battery life. It must be large enough to cover the entirety of an operation. It is moreover more convenient to use a rechargeable tactical flashlight rather than battery-powered to facilitate charging. Less expensive in the long term, rechargeable tactical flashlights are also more environmentally friendly. You will have no need to store your batteries, everything is in the battery!
There are today multiple models of tactical flashlights, from the large tactical flashlight allowing illumination at several hundred meters, to the tactical headlamp through the tactical laser light or the famous pistol light.
