Whatever their mission, the role of security agents consists of both reassuring the public and deterring ill-intentioned individuals. For reasons of authority and legislation, wearing a uniform is mandatory for all agents on duty, but this uniform may vary according to the agent's activity.

The security field not being a field like any other, the law is relatively demanding on the attire that agents must wear. First of all, it is mandatory that the uniform worn includes at least two badges that represent the company's name or logo and that these badges are permanently visible. Next, the attire must not resemble other regulated uniforms (police, firefighters, gendarmes, etc.) so that there is no confusion in case several professional bodies have to manage the same incident at the same time and place. Of course, the security agent uniform being regulated and representing authority, it is strictly forbidden for agents to wear it outside their service hours.

There is no standard outfit adaptable to all missions. An agent working in a store could for example wear a white shirt, a tie, pleated pants and dress shoes while an agent who will ensure the smooth running of an event will wear a yellow vest with "security" marking, classic pants and intervention shoes. Each mission has its outfit. For agents required to work outdoors or at night, the main constraint is temperature, so take the time to choose the jacket that suits you (parka, jacket or softshell). Some are specially designed to face this kind of conditions and offer adapted specificities (waterproof, water-resistant, fleece, water-repellent, windproof...).

When talking about a security agent uniform, there is only one ideal outfit: the one that best suits the agent wearing it while respecting the laws that regulate the profession. For the practical aspect, favor jackets or softshell with many pockets, adjustable lengths or even interior elasticated loops on the right and left for your cords and earpieces.
Don't forget either the duty belts to carry all your intervention equipment (flashlight, radio...) and have them within reach at all times, ready to serve when needed.
Think comfort, visibility and functionality, while respecting your budget and you'll be sure to make the right choice!
