The Civil Reserve of the National Police is accessible to a large number of French citizens. It consists of volunteer citizens, retired police officers andformer security assistants. Do you want to support law enforcement during important events? Do you want to act for your country? You can commit as a volunteer citizen to join the civil reserve of the National Police. Your main missions will consist of supporting operational activities (participating in a security perimeter during disasters), specialist activities (IT, legal expertise) or as anassistant judicial police officer (road safety, intelligence gathering). However, as a civil reservist of the National Police, it is not possible to participate in maintaining and restoring public order.
In order to join the reserve, certain conditions must be met. You must be between 18 and 65 years old, be of French nationality, not have been sentenced to loss of civil rights or prohibition from working in public employment, be in compliance with the defense and citizenship day and have good physical condition. Moreover, it is also a commitment to the code of ethics of the national police and gendarmerie that you must respect.

If you perform a mission on public roads, you will be equipped with a uniform consisting of a polo shirt or t-shirt, trousers and a pair of combat boots. It will be completed with a bulletproof vest as well as the civil reserve insignia. Furthermore, you will not be armed. Any other mission will be performed in civilian clothing.

Following your commitment, you will benefit from 10 days of training in a National Police school in order to develop the following modules: police operations, missions assigned to reservists, intervention safety and information related to weapons.
This commitment is initially planned for a duration of one year, renewable up to five years. Furthermore, the maximum assignment duration cannot exceed 90 days per year. It will also be necessary to obtain authorization from the employer if missions or training exceed 10 days per year. Due to your commitment, no disciplinary sanction or dismissal may be imposed against you by your employer.
The compensation for a National Police reservist ranges from 50 to 195€ gross daily depending on your role. If your activity is carried out in the Île-de-France region, it is slightly higher (between 55 and 203€ gross per day). Note that training periods are compensated.
